Exit and buyout
You are never locked into Vectorspace. Our policies are designed so you can leave when you want, on terms that are transparent and predictable.
Early termination (within the first 12 months)
Section titled “Early termination (within the first 12 months)”If you cancel before completing 12 months, the fee is the lesser of:
- 3 monthly fees, or
- The remaining installments until the end of the initial term.
Examples at USD 500/month:
- Cancel in month 3 (9 remaining): USD 1,500
- Cancel in month 10 (2 remaining): USD 1,000
- Cancel in month 11 (1 remaining): USD 500
After 12 months, you can cancel anytime with 30 days notice, with no fee.
Buyout — take the knowledge base with you
Section titled “Buyout — take the knowledge base with you”After any time with us, you can buy the structured knowledge base and move it to your own infrastructure. This includes: the curated content, the taxonomy, optimized prompts, and — where technically feasible — the embeddings themselves.
The price formula is:
Buyout = (10 × monthly fee) × (complete years × 1.5)
Capped at year 5.

Why the price grows with time
Section titled “Why the price grows with time”A knowledge base that has been curated for 4 years is materially more valuable than one at 6 months: gaps have been filled, edge cases mapped, taxonomy refined, prompts optimized, and the language matches exactly how your customers ask questions. That maturity is what the buyout price reflects.
The cap at year 5 is deliberate: we never want the exit price to feel punitive. At year 5, it stabilizes for the remaining duration of the relationship.
Your content is always yours
Section titled “Your content is always yours”The buyout price is for the structure we created — curation, prompts, taxonomy, organization. The source content you provided (articles, PDFs, documents) is always yours and can be exported at any time, free of charge, in standard formats.
After the buyout
Section titled “After the buyout”Once paid, we hand off the knowledge base within 30 days in technically usable formats. You can host it wherever you want, on whatever provider you choose. You can keep the Vectorspace subscription active (most customers do, because running and maintaining the base themselves is more expensive than the monthly fee) or terminate it. That is entirely your decision.
